Samuel Martens, a freshman at Grand Valley State, won the men's 10,000 meters in 29:32.46 at the 112th Drake Relays presented by Xtream and powered by Mediacom and Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield at Drake Stadium in Des Moines, Iowa. Martens improved from his previous-best effort April 8 by 23 seconds to become the first Grand Valley State male distance runner to win an event in meet history.
